20 employee engagement survey questions people answer honestly

Engagement surveys fail in two ways: they are too long, and people don't believe they're anonymous. Short polls fix the first. QR Polls fixes the second: no names, no emails, no logins, and the results show only totals.

Ask four or five of these at a time, a few times a year, and compare. The trend matters more than any single score.

Tips from running these live

  • Use the same wording every time so the results are comparable across quarters.
  • Don't ask in a room of fewer than about eight people; small groups make anonymous answers guessable.
  • Publish the results even when they're bad. Skipping that step is what kills the next survey.
