Live polls in Google Slides

A live poll on any Google Slides slide.

Make the poll here, download its QR code, and drop it onto a slide. When the slide comes up, the room scans and votes. Switch to the results tab to show the bars move. No add-on needed and nothing for your audience to install.

Multiple choice, quiz & more

No signup. Free. Your poll is live the moment you press Enter.

How it works

  1. 01

    Make the poll

Type the question above, or open the editor for multiple choice, ranking or a quiz.

  2. 02

    Insert the QR

On the share page, Download QR as PNG, then in Slides: Insert, Image, Upload from computer.

  3. 03

    Show the results

Open the results page in another tab and switch to it when you want the room to see the bars.

Why a QR code works better than a link on a slide

Nobody types a URL from a projector. A QR code is one step: phone camera up, question open. It works from the back row, and the short link printed under it covers anyone whose camera won’t cooperate.

Want it inside Slides? Use the add-on script

QR Polls has a small Google Slides add-on that adds Extensions, QR Polls, New poll slide: type a question in a sidebar and it inserts a slide with the QR code and a results link. It is not in the Workspace Marketplace yet; you can install it yourself in a minute from Extensions, Apps Script. Email [email protected] and we will send it.

Tips for presenting

  • Put the poll slide right after your opening slide; early polls set the tone for participation.
  • Read the question aloud and say ‘point your camera at the code’. It doubles the response rate.
  • Set results to show after voting so early votes don’t steer the room, then reveal them.

Questions

Is there a Google Slides add-on?

Yes, as an Apps Script you install yourself; it isn’t listed in the Workspace Marketplace yet. You don’t need it: a downloaded QR image on a slide works the same for your audience.

Does it work in presentation mode?

Yes. The QR code is just an image, so it shows in present mode, in exported PDFs and on shared links.

Is it free?

Yes, up to 100 responses per poll on the free plan, with no account needed to make one.
