QR code that never expires

A QR code that cannot expire.

Link, Wi-Fi, Contact, Text, Email and SMS codes made here are static: what they hold is written into the picture, not stored on our servers. Poll codes are the exception and work as long as the poll exists. There is no trial, no subscription and no ad between a scanner and your link.

How it works

  1. 01

    Type the address

Choose Link, or Wi-Fi, Contact, Text, Email, SMS or Poll, and fill in the details.

  2. 02

    Check the scan score

We try to read the code five ways before you download it, so you know it will work.

  3. 03

    Download PNG or SVG

Both are free, with no watermark. Print it as big or as small as you like.

Why a static code does not expire

Some QR code sites send every scan through their own server, and the code stops working when a trial ends. A static code (Link, Wi-Fi, Contact, Text, Email or SMS) holds your content itself, so a phone goes straight to it and nothing of ours is in the middle. Poll codes are the exception: they go through qrpolls.com so scans can be counted, and they work as long as the poll exists.

The one thing that can break a static code is the page it points to. If your address changes, the printed code keeps pointing at the old one, so make a new code for the new address.

What you get free

  • PNG and SVG downloads, with no watermark.
  • Any one solid colour for the dots and the background.
  • A scan score that tests the code the way a phone would.
  • No account, no ads, no expiry.

Questions

Does a free QR code expire?

Not a Link, Wi-Fi, Contact, Text, Email or SMS code made here. It is static: what it holds is inside the picture and nothing on our side can switch it off. A Poll code works as long as the poll exists, and stops if the poll is deleted.

Is there an ad before the link opens?

No. A scanner goes straight to your link.

Do I need an account?

No. Make the code, check it and download it without signing in.

Can you see who scans my code?

Not for Link, Wi-Fi, Contact, Text, Email and SMS codes. They do not pass through us, so we do not count scans or see who scans them. Poll codes are different: they go through qrpolls.com so we can count scans, and they work as long as the poll exists.
