For teachers
Hear from every student, not just the front row.
Put a QR code on the board. Students point a phone camera at it and answer anonymously: no accounts, no app, no codes to type. You see the whole class in seconds, and the quiet kids finally get a vote.
How it works
- 01
Write one question
A confidence check, an exit ticket, or a quiz question. Or open a ready-made set and change the topic.
- 02
Put the QR on the board
Project it or print it on the door. Students scan as they walk in or before the bell.
- 03
Teach to the answers
The bars show who got it. Reteach the part most of the class missed, while they are still in the room.
What works in a classroom today
- Live quiz games with timed questions, speed points, streaks and a leaderboard. Up to 500 students join by QR code.
- Anonymous check-for-understanding polls. Nobody sees who answered what, so honest 'I'm lost' answers show up.
- Exit tickets as open-text polls, shown as a live word cloud of what landed.
- 1 to 5 confidence ratings before a test, and printable QR posters for the classroom door.
- One vote per device that works on school Wi-Fi, where a whole class shares one network address.
Why a QR code instead of a join code
A join code means opening a website, typing an address, then typing six digits. With thirty students that is two minutes of 'it's not working'. A phone camera reads a QR code in a second, and students land straight on the question.
No student accounts also means no student data to manage. Answers are anonymous by default and no email address is ever collected from a student.
Ready-made sets for this week
- Bell ringers: settle the room and see who did the reading.
- Check for understanding: anonymous mid-lesson checks for any subject.
- Exit tickets: one thing learned, one thing still fuzzy.
- Trivia with answers, and Halloween trivia, for a Friday quiz with a leaderboard.
Questions
Is it free for teachers?
Yes. The free plan covers polls, quizzes, Q&A and posters, up to 100 responses per poll, and you don't need an account to make your first poll. Until October 31, 2026, eligible teachers get Creator at half price for life: up to 1,000 responses and 100 choices per poll, with no QR Polls branding.
Do students need accounts or an app?
No. Students scan the QR code with the phone camera and answer in the browser. Only you need an account, and only if you want to keep your polls.
What if students don't have phones?
Share one tablet or laptop and pass it around, or project the voting link and let students use school Chromebooks. Each device gets one vote.
Can I track each student's progress over time?
Not yet. Polls are anonymous by design and there are no class rosters today. It is on the roadmap; we will not claim it until it ships.
