Anonymous poll maker

Ask the question people won’t answer out loud.

Nobody who votes gives a name, an email or an account. You see the totals, never who picked what. That is when the honest answers come in: in class, at work, in a community meeting.

How it works

  1. 01

    Write the question

A rating, yes or no, multiple choice, a ranking or an open answer.

  2. 02

    Share the QR or link

On a screen, a poster or in a chat. Nobody signs in to answer.

  3. 03

    Read the totals

Results show counts and percentages only. Open answers appear without names.

How anonymous is it, exactly?

  • Voters never create an account and are never asked for a name or email.
  • We never store a voter’s IP address; only a salted one-way hash, used to stop ballot stuffing.
  • Each phone gets a random ID in a cookie so it can only vote once. It contains nothing about the person.
  • You, the person who made the poll, cannot see who voted for what. Nor can we.
  • The one exception is a poll you deliberately set to ‘one vote per account’: then voters sign in, and the vote is tied to their account.

Make it feel anonymous too

  • Say it out loud: ‘Nobody, including me, can see who answered.’
  • Don’t run open-text questions in groups of fewer than about eight people; small groups make answers guessable.
  • Share the results back, so people see their honest answers led somewhere.

Questions

Can the poll creator see who voted?

No. QR Polls stores no names or emails for voters, so there is nothing to show.

Can someone vote twice?

Each phone gets one vote. Someone who clears their browser could vote again, which is true of every no-account poll; for binding votes, use a ballot with ID.

Is it free?

Yes. Up to 100 responses per poll on the free plan, with no account needed to make one.
