Live polls in PowerPoint
A live poll in PowerPoint, no plugin.
Make the poll here, insert its QR code as a picture, and present as usual. The room scans and votes on their phones; switch to the results window to show the answers. Works the same in Keynote, Canva and PDF handouts.
How it works
- 01
Make the poll
Type the question above or open the full editor.
- 02
Insert the QR
Share page, Download QR as PNG, then in PowerPoint: Insert, Pictures, This Device.
- 03
Present
Keep the results page open in a browser window and switch to it (Alt+Tab) to reveal.
No add-in to install or approve
Corporate IT often blocks PowerPoint add-ins. A QR code is a picture, so it works on locked-down laptops, in Teams and Zoom screen shares, and in the PDF you send afterwards.
Tips
- Make the QR at least a quarter of the slide width for large rooms.
- Put the short link under the code for people on video calls.
- Use one poll per slide; it keeps the results clear.
Questions
Is there a PowerPoint add-in?
Not yet. You don’t need one: the QR image works in every version of PowerPoint, on Mac and Windows, and in Keynote.
Does it work on Teams or Zoom?
Yes. Remote attendees scan the code on their screen with a phone, or open the short link.
Is it free?
Yes, up to 100 responses per poll on the free plan.
