Training and workshop evaluation questions
Most training evaluations measure whether people liked the lunch. The questions that matter are whether they learned something and whether they will use it next week.
This set covers both. Use the reaction questions if you only have a minute, and the application questions when you need to justify the training budget.
How to run it
- 01Ask a confidence question at the start of the session and the same question at the end, then compare the two results.
- 02Run the evaluation before the final wrap-up, not after people have packed up.
- 03Follow up a month later with the application question to see what stuck.

Tips from running these live
- The before-and-after confidence pair is the simplest evidence that training worked. Keep both polls in the CSV export.
- Anonymous answers are more critical and more useful. Leave anonymous voting on.
- For multi-day workshops, run a short pulse at the end of each day so you can adjust tomorrow.
